Clay County State Public Fishing Lake

Clay County State Public Fishing Lake, also know as Fred R. Harders Lake, is located 1 mile west of Delta, Alabama. This ADCNR facility features three lakes of 13, 23 and 38 acres stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, channel catfish, and crappie. Amenities include restrooms, concessions, a boat ramp, and a fishing pier. A fishing license and State Public Fishing Lakes permit is required for ages 16 to 64. Licenses and permits are available from license agents located throughout the state, online, through the Outdoor AL mobile app, at county probate offices, or by calling (888) 848-6887.

These lakes are located 1 mile west of the east central Alabama town of Delta on State Lake Road. From Lineville, take Alabama Highway 9 north to Delta. Take a left on State Lake Road for three quarters of a mile to the Clay County lakes.

Open sunrise to sunset during the following dates.

February 1 to June 30: Open six days each week (closed Mondays)
July 1 to September 30: Closed Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays
Closed November 22-23
Reopens November 24

Fish Species

Largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, channel catfish, and crappie.

$5 Fishing Permit required for anglers ages 12 and up (Includes launch of personal boat)
$10 Boat Rental Permit (daily fishing permit also required)
