STATUS:
Local breeder. Rare in summer and fall, and occasional in spring in Gulf Coast region (mostly offshore). Occasional inland in fall due to storms. MODERATE CONSERVATION CONCERN.
HABITAT:
Pelagic. Found in the Gulf and along barrier islands.
