STATUS:
Common in fall, fairly common in spring, uncommon in late summer, and occasional in winter in Gulf Coast region. In other regions, common in spring and fall, and uncommon in late summer.
HABITAT:
Found in wet meadows, flooded fields, on mudflats, and along shores of ponds, pools, and lakes.
