STATUS:
Occasional breeder. Common in winter, spring, and fall in Gulf Coast region, and uncommon to rare in summer. In Tennessee Valley, fairly common to uncommon in spring and fall, uncommon in winter, and rare to uncommon in summer. In Mountain and Inland Coastal Plain regions, uncommon to rare in winter, spring, late summer, and fall. Low Conservation Concern.
HABITAT:
Found in marshes and the Gulf and on bays, beaches, rivers, lakes, and ponds.
