Reithrodontomys humulis
STATUS:
Poorly known. Once common in old fields containing dense stands of weeds and grasses, but may be declining in Alabama. MODERATE CONSERVATION CONCERN.
FEEDING HABITS:
Seeds comprise most of diet, but insects and green vegetation also eaten.
LIFE HISTORY AND ECOLOGY:
Breed throughout the year, with a gestation period of 21-22 days, and litter of two to three.
