Fishing in Logan Martin Reservoir
Logan Martin Reservoir is located in east-central Alabama on the Coosa River, approximately 30 miles east of Birmingham (the lake borders St. Clair and Talladega counties). The reservoir extends 48.5 miles from the dam upstream to Neely Henry dam and contains 15,263 acres.
Largemouth bass and spotted bass are the main draw for anglers. Largemouth bass growth has been excellent. Largemouth bass are abundant and well represented in the 12-18 inch range. Spotted bass are also abundant with many spots in the 14-21 inch range, representing some of the best values in the state. In fact the spotted bass numbers in the 17-20 inch range equaled the highest value ever recorded from the lake. Spotted bass growth has been good to excellent, and their condition is outstanding.
