Fish Species:
Largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, channel catfish, crappie, and hybrid striped bass.
Location:
Walker County Lake is located 3 miles southeast of Jasper off US Highway 78 in Jasper, Alabama. From Jasper US 78 east to Industrial Parkway, take Industrial Parkway south for 2.7 miles to Walker County Public Fishing Lake.
Hours of Operation:
Open sunrise to sunset
- January 3rd to June 30th open SEVEN days a week
- July 1st until December 21 closed Monday, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays
- Closed Thanksgiving Day and December 22nd to January 2nd for the Holidays.
SPECIAL TROUT FISHING SEASON
- Trout fishing will begin on Friday November 28th, 2025. Trout will be stocked in the pond. The lake will also be available for fishing of native species; Bass, bluegill, etc.
- During trout season, you MUST possess a trout permit to fish in the pond. The trout will average 1 to 2lbs in weight with a trout creel limit of 4 per permit. Strictly enforced.
- An Alabama fishing license is required if you're between 16 and 64 to fish for trout or in the lake along with the appropriate daily permit.
- Those in possession of the trout permit are also allowed their regular creel limits in other species.
- Keep what you catch. No throwbacks of trout.

- Daily Fishing Permit Required in Addition to License for Anglers Age 12 and Older $5.00 (Includes launch of personal boat)
- Boat Rental Permit (Daily fishing permit also required) $10.00
*State Lakes Fishing Licenses are available for purchase at the lake.
