STATUS:
Breeder. Common in winter, spring, and fall in Gulf Coast region. Common in fall, fairly common in spring, and rare in summer and late winter inland. Lowest Conservation Concern.
HABITAT:
Found around open areas, ponds, and lakes. Nest in cavities in dead, standing timber and boxes.
