Application Extension for Alabama’s CARES Act Marine Industry Relief Program
On September 14, 2020, the Alabama Marine Resources Division (MRD) opened applications for relief funding under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act to assist in the recovery efforts of Alabama’s seafood-related businesses such as commercial fishing, processing, marine aquaculture, and charter for-hire activities. The funding is available for financial damages incurred by eligible businesses from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic between March 1, 2020, and May 31, 2020.
Due to the impacts of Hurricanes Sally and Delta, the application deadline has been extended to Friday, November 13, 2020. Applications must be postmarked or hand-delivered to the MRD office in Gulf Shores by 5 p.m. that day.
