Gate opens at 2p.m. on Friday for camping and closes at dark.
The gate opens on Saturday at 8 a.m. for Open Trails and Fishing and closes at dark (bank fishing at Blue Heron Lake and Wood Duck Lake until 4p.m.).
Checkout time for campers is 3p.m. on Sunday.
Wehle has 11 primitive campsites with power and water hook-ups (no sewer available). Campsites are available on scheduled open weekends on a first come, first served basis. Additional spaces are available with no power or water. There is no fee for these campsites. Amenities include horse stalls and paddocks, covered pavilion, showers and restrooms. Upon arrival, check in with the camp host.
A fishing license is required for those ages 16 to 64.
The Forever Wild Wehle Tract is located 4819 Pleasant Hill Rd., in Midway, Alabama.
