-Saltwater Angler Registry - required for all residents 16 and over who are not required to purchase an annual saltwater license such as those 65 or older, have a lifetime saltwater license, or fish exclusively on a pier that has purchased a pier fishing license. For Recreational Licenses, those exempt from licenses would be:
- Residents under 16 years of age
Residents under 16 years of age are NOT EXEMPT from the following:
Baiting Privilege - required to hunt white-tailed deer and feral swine over bait within Alabama for all hunters of all ages (NO EXEMPTION) on private land. Prohibited on public land, including Wildlife Management Areas (WMA’s).
Nighttime Feral Swine / Coyote - required to hunt feral swine and coyote at night on private or leased lands during special season. Required of all ages, NO EXEMPTIONS.
- Residents 65 and over are EXEMPT from purchasing recreational hunting, freshwater fishing, saltwater fishing, WMA licenses and state duck stamp.
Residents 65 and over are NOT EXEMPT from the following:

Spearfishing - required to spear (while completely submerged) commercial or non-game fish in freshwater or saltwater.
- Resident Landowners and immediate family:
Immediate family defined as:
- Landowner’s spouse
- Landowner’s children, if Alabama residents
- Landowner’s parents, if Alabama residents
- Landowner’s brothers and/or sisters, if Alabama residents
- If Landowner has a tenant residing on the property, he and his immediate family residing on the property are exempt from the requirement of a hunting license.
- NOTE: If the member of the immediate family has moved out of state, regardless of whether they possess an Alabama Driver’s License, they are considered Non-Residents. Grandchildren of landowner are NOT exempt.
Residents landowners (and immediate family) are NOT EXEMPT from the following:
