The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Marine Resources Division (MRD) reminds anglers who would like to fish from federally-permitted, for-hire vessels that the 62-day season begins June 1, 2020, at 12:01 a.m. local time and runs through August 2, 2020, at 12:01 a.m. local time.
The federal for-hire (charter) fishing season is managed by the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) for all five Gulf States. The season will run 62 consecutive days, based on their harvest estimates.
The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources promotes wise stewardship, management and enjoyment of Alabama’s natural resources through four divisions: Marine Resources, State Lands, State Parks, and Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries.
