Join us on Wednesday, August 5, to celebrate the addition of 248-acres to the Forever Wild Turkey Creek Nature Preserve in Pinson, Alabama. The new addition features rugged slopes along West Red Mountain with more than a half mile of sandstone rock outcrops that loom over the sheltered valleys. The majority of the tract is dominated by mature oak-hickory forests that have remained undisturbed for nearly 100 years, with towering old-growth longleaf pines on the ridgetops. Perennial streams on the tract provide filtered water to the Turkey Creek watershed, which supports five endangered fish and one threatened turtle species.
The media and public are invited to attend!
