Frequently Asked Questions:
Account Management
- Do I need to create a new account if I already have an Outdoor Alabama profile?
- Your existing records are safe! You will not need to start from scratch. Starting July 16, 2026, you will simply use your permanent Conservation ID to log into the new system, verify your current contact details, and claim your modernized dashboard. All your historical data will automatically carry over.
Payment, Security, & Auto-Renew
- Will my saved credit card information transfer over to the new system?
- No. For your security, credit card information and saved payment methods cannot be migrated from the old system to the new platform. The first time you make a purchase, set up auto-renew, or request a hard card on the new system after August 16, 2026, you will need to manually enter your preferred payment information. Once entered, you can securely save it for future transactions.
- If I had Auto-Renew set up on the old system, do I need to turn it on again?
- Yes. Because credit card data cannot be transferred to the new platform, any existing auto-renewal preferences will be reset. When you log in to verify your account and make your first renewal on the new dashboard, simply toggle the "Auto-Renew" switch at checkout and input your payment details to re-enroll your privileges for future seasons.
Mobile App & Digital Access
- Do I need to download a completely new mobile app?
- No, you will not need to search for a new app. The existing Outdoor Alabama mobile app will receive an automatic update in July to seamlessly connect with the new backend platform. Once updated, you can log in with your verified credentials to see your new dashboard. If your app does not work as expected, please redownload the app to receive the new version.
- Can I still show my license digitally if I lose cell service in the field?
- Yes. The upgraded system includes an enhanced offline mode. Once you log in to the updated app while connected to cellular data or Wi-Fi, your digital license is securely cached on your device. Game Wardens can verify this digital copy in the field, even if you are completely off the grid in a remote WMA or river swamp. With that said, it is always important to have a printed copy with you in case the system is not connecting properly.
Harvest History, HIP, Certifications & Education
- How does this affect my free Harvest Information Program (HIP) status?
- Just like before, the federal government requires all migratory bird hunters (doves, ducks, geese, woodcock, etc.) to register for HIP annually. You will still be able to add your free HIP certification to your cart with a single click during your annual renewal process on the new dashboard.
- Will my hunting/fishing history, Game Check, and Snapper Check records be lost?
- Not at all. We know how important harvest history and hunter education records are to our hunters and anglers. All historical data—including past Game Check and Snapper Check confirmations, Hunter Education certifications, and vessel information—is being securely migrated into the new Tyler Technologies and One Outdoors platform.
- Will my Hunter Safety Education number transition to the new system?
- In most cases, yes! Your verified hunter education certification will automatically transition to your new profile during the data migration. However, we strongly encourage all hunters to log into their modernized dashboard after July 15 to verify that their Hunter Safety number is displayed correctly.
- If your number is missing or you need help locating it, you can instantly search the state database or request a duplicate card by visiting the ADCNR Hunter Education Card Replacement Portal.
Lifetime Licenses
- Will Lifetime Licenses, including the new Lifetime Disabled Resident License, be available on this platform?
- Yes. For the first time, lifetime hunting and fishing licenses will be availble for purchase online, including the newly legislated Lifetime Disabled Resident Licenses, which will be available for direct processing and management within the digital platform starting July 16, 2026, drastically reducing the paperwork and wait times previously required.
