On Tuesday, September 22, 2026, state and local leaders will host a ribbon cutting ceremony at Riverview Landing in Tuscaloosa to celebrate the completion of a series of major renovations to three public boat ramps on the Warrior River – Riverview, Foster’s Ferry and Moundville. The event will take place at 10 a.m. at Riverview Landing located at 599 7th NE Ave. in Tuscaloosa. The media and public are invited to attend.

About the Boat Ramp Improvements
Riverview Landing temporarily closed in May 2026 for the installation of a new access pier. Additional improvements to the facility also include the installation of a new launching slab in 2024 and paving of the parking area by the City of Tuscaloosa in 2025. In addition to the Riverview improvements, ADCNR partnered with Tuscaloosa County to repair and repave the parking lot to correct drainage issues at the Foster’s Ferry Public Boat Ramp located approximately 10 miles southwest of Tuscaloosa. The Moundville Public Boat Ramp launching slab was also replaced. The new launching slab was reoriented to allow for easier loading and unloading of boats. These facilities are Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible.

Funding for these projects was primarily provided through the Sport Fish Restoration Program, which is supported through excise taxes on the sale of outboard motor fuel, fishing equipment and the sale of Alabama fishing licenses.
