STATUS:
Accidental. Lowest Conservation Concern.
HABITAT:
In western North America, grasslands, desert scrub, sagebrush shrublands, and open woodlands are favored, but open areas with a variety of habitats are occupied.
FEEDING HABITS:
Diet includes small mammals, snakes, lizards, insects, eggs and broods of birds, and carrion.
LIFE HISTORY AND ECOLOGY:
Mating occurs in summer and early autumn, implantation of embryos is delayed until December- February, and one to five young (average of two) are born during March-early April.
