STATUS:
Locally fairly common to uncommon in winter and spring, and rare to uncommon in late fall in Tennessee Valley region. In Mountain and Inland Coastal Plain regions, uncommon in winter, spring, and fall. In Gulf Coastal region, rare in winter, spring, and fall. HIGH CONSERVATION CONCERN.
HABITAT:
Found along edges of ponds, flooded fields, sloughs, streams, and swamps.
