MargaritiferidaeSpectaclecase Cumberlandia monodonta. Rare. Restricted to the Tennessee River. Extant only in the riverine reaches downstream of Wilson and Guntersville dams. HIGHEST CONSERVATION CONCERN. Alabama Pearlshell Margaritifera marrianae. Rare. Endemic to small area of south-central Alabama. Most populations found in Conecuh River system in Butler, Conecuh, and Crenshaw Counties. In the Alabama River system, known from Limestone Creek, Monroe County. Found in small tributaries. Listed as endangered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on October 12, 2012. HIGHEST CONSERVATION CONCERN.
