Tropicbirds - Family Phaethontidae

White-tailed Tropicbird Phaethon lepturus. Accidental. Hypothetical.

Red-billed Tropicbird Phaethon aethereus. Accidental.

Boobies and Gannets - Family Sulidae

Masked Booby Sula dactylatra. Rare during all seasons. Pelagic. Found in the Gulf and along outer coast.

Brown Booby Sula leucogaster. Occasional during spring, summer, and fall. Found in the Gulf and along outer coast.

Northern Gannet Morus bassanus. Common in winter. Fairly common to uncommon in spring and fall. Rare in summer. Found in the Gulf and along outer coast.

Pelicans - Family Pelecanidae

American White Pelican Pelecanus erythrorhynchos. Fairly common on Gulf Coast in winter, but uncommon in spring, summer, and fall. Uncommon to rare inland in winter and during migration. Found on lakes, bays, marshes. Low Conservation Concern.

Brown Pelican Pelecanus occidentalis. Breeder. Common on Gulf Coast. Occasional inland. Found on salt water bays and in the Gulf. Low Conservation Concern.  

Cormorants - Family Phalacrocoracidae

Neotropic Cormorant Phalacrocorax brasilianus. Accidental.

Double-crested Cormorant Phalacrocorax auritus. Occasional breeder. Common in all regions in fall, winter, and spring. Fairly common to uncommon in summer. Found on lakes, rivers, bays, and in the Gulf. Lowest Conservation Concern.  

Great Cormorant Phalacrocorax carbo. Occasional in winter on Gulf Coast. Found on bays and in the Gulf.

Anhingas -  Family Anhingidae

Anhinga Anhinga anhinga. Breeder. Fairly common to uncommon in Inland Coastal Plain and Gulf Coast regions in spring, summer, and fall, but rare in winter. Occasional in Tennessee Valley and Mountain regions in spring, summer, and fall. Found on ponds, lakes, marshy areas, and in heavily timbered swamps, oxbows, bottomlands, and riverine systems. Low Conservation Concern.

Frigatebirds - Family Fregatidae

Magnificent Frigatebird Fregata magnificens. Uncommon in summer and fall, and rare in spring in Gulf Coast region. Found in the Gulf and Mississippi Sound.
