Cuckoos, Roadrunners, and Anis - Family Cuculidae

Black-billed Cuckoo Coccyzus erythropthalmus. Historical breeder. Uncommon in spring and rare in fall in Gulf Coast region. In other regions, rare in spring and fall, and occasional in summer. Found along forest edges and open woodlands.

Mangrove Cuckoo Coccyzus minor. Accidental.

Yellow-billed Cuckoo Coccyzus americanus. Breeder. Common in spring, summer, and fall in all regions. Found in woodlands and on farmlands with scattered trees and orchards. Low Conservation Concern.

Groove-billed Ani Crotophaga sulcirostris. Occasional to rare in fall and winter in Gulf Coast region. Found in early successional scrub, pastures, and orchards.
