On Saturday, March 9, 2013, Heath Taylor caught this chain pickerel from Pickwick Lake. This 6 lb. pickerel was caught with a lipless crankbait (Rat-L-Trap). |

Local angler boats a 11.14 and then a 11.83 the next day on Pickwick
William Davis of the Shoals Area was doing what a lot of tournament bass anglers do before a tournament - checking out places to fish and looking for honey holes on Pickwick Lake with an Alabama Rig®. Davis was fishing several miles downriver from Florence, AL, McFarland Park. He was working a ledge in the Waterloo, AL area fishing eight feet of water when Davis' Hammer rod bowed under a tremendous strike on his Alabama Rig.
